Musing of the day COVID-19/ Day 2 of the fast:
The excerpt below was written by Martin Shaw in his article published by Emergence Magazine "Is this an initiation?"
"One size doesn't always fit all. No more fake news from our still, small voice. Above our attempts to generally wise up to climate Emergency, what does the intensity of this experience have to teach each of us? I wouldn't dream of telling anyone what that is.
It's the back end of the encounter that will produce the most acute wisdom, the maturation. That's what gives most people the jitters. Holding your nerve.
I appreciate how scary that can feel, that we don't have the luxury of that kind of time. From a vigil perspective though, this is only day two of the fast, not time yet to start telling the story of the thing. Rather it is time for listening.
By all means, lets wonder in words round the virtual fire but allow some brooding first."
Indeed, it is not the time for story telling and so we find ourselves sitting around the virtual fire, together and yet apart, actively listening to each other thinking.. "What next?"
If we allow for it, the physical distance can begin to unearth invisible gems within us. This is alchemy at its finest, our feelings and emotions have begun to move out of the shadows and into the light. With the mirror so firmly planted in front of us, we can no longer escape ourselves and the secret workings of our internal caves.
Suddenly the shadowy figure projected on the wall of our cavern begins to take a more discernable shape. Allow your eyes time to adjust and see what feelings or thoughts come into focus.
This is a time of shadow work, both sides of the coin are needed for integration to take place, this will be uncomfortable but allow it, this work does indeed take courage. Day 2 of this fast in the wilderness is plea for us to take a look at what courage truly is.
courage
noun
the ability to do something that frightens one; bravery. * strength in the face of pain or grief.
All the energies, moods and feels...
